Hello,

Does any one know what is the longest uptime for a dedicated server?

I've had about 3 years on a colocated machine (not public facing, of course.) I'd imagine many people with dedicated servers have had similar results. However, uptime really isn't a great metric - if your uptime is high, it means you likely haven't been applying security updates like you should be. ;)

due to spam i hided some ips

also server load is 8 because daily backup is going on

Yeah good luck with business mate, as long the server doesn't get DDoSed and the dc doesn't give you problem the server uptime should be fine.

If you have problems, i'd recommend a managed dedicated server company, like Wirevia or Wiredtree.

Here's one of my wussier uptimes:

nc@mi-xen-1:~$ uptime
21:35:59 up 281 days, 5:47, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00

All it takes is a data center with good power.. there have been a few network issues in front of this server during this period. I also virtualize everything, so if a host is DDoS'd, it still won't affect the underlying system.

..and here's one of the VM's on that host:

21:39:24 up 281 days, 2:01, 3 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

That is, in Xen terms, the 'domain 0', and one of my administrative nodes.

Here's an actual hosting node (Plesk).. it's quite idle, because I only host for friends and direct clients, so most of the sites don't see a ton of traffic:

22:45:48 up 67 days, 11:47, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00

It was rebooted for a kernel upgrade -- for the public-facing nodes, gotta keep the security patches up to date!

Here's a dedicated VM for one of the backend webservers for a client with a rather busy ecommerce site:

23:48:41 up 225 days, 2:29, 1 user, load average: 0.74, 0.97, 0.76
