Preferred Domain
If you were to buy any one of the domains listed above, which one were you to use?
I'd personally like a brandable/dictionary domain.
They are great for starting new services IMO.
Dynno is a great one; it has a ring and can be said easily.
Yahoo, Google, all those strange words make good names.
What would you choose?

RE: Preferred Domain
whenever i think of registering a domain, first i will look for small easy to remember words. Most of the good domain names are already registered, so we will have to find new brandable words.

RE: Preferred Domain
Brandable/Dictionary Domain - better to get visitors, and you would come up a lot more in search engines etc.

RE: Preferred Domain
Not if it's brandable you are looking for. It just needs to be pronounceable, so you just need to come up with a few syllables and string them together. e.g.
1. Optionally add a consonant, e.g. t
2. Optionally add another consonant that changes the previous sound, e.g. h (To make th), not b (To make tb)
3. Add a vowel or the pseudo vowel y, e.g. u (To make thu)
4. Optionally add an r or another vowel, e.g. r (To make thur)
5. Optionally add a cosonant, e.g. f (To make thurf)
6. Repeat the process to add more syllables to the word.

yes, almost half of the dictionary words are just parked domains. I hate to see this :yuush:, Why son't they make something useful with those domains??

Short pronounceable words are very good, as we can create our own brandable words and they are likely to be available for registration.

RE: Preferred Domain
It was on the news a while ago. Domains with i infront of it tend to be more successful then the regular ones.

RE: Preferred Domain
The most annoying part about parked domains is they are mostly outragiously overpriced ($1,500+ for low quality domains) to the point no one would ever buy them. So they'll just be parked forever. It's because they only cost like $10, so they only have to sell a very small amount to break even.

RE: Preferred Domain
Exactly, some domainers pay extreme prices for domains.
I just buy them at reg price and sell them at a slightly higher price.
