There should be an points system , users can trade their points in exchange of forum posting , scripts , graphics and much others .

I hope someone will review my suggestion ( prefferably an administrator ) and give me a reason why not adding a point system.

I would suggest you search the forum a bit before making topics. If you look, just a few posts below yours, hereyou will find a post about currency.

Coop is right, we've been looking into that script/mod/hack before we open up this forum. I hope Hie will find one soon...

Well just remember to make weekly sql backsups, and backup your config files for the forum.

Also you may want to wait till it is a viable option to have points on - e.g when the forum is really really active.

I also suggest planning for the future and getting a points system that integrates well with other modules that you can add if you require. Such as a bank and the auction mod we were discussing in the other topic.

The system should also be able to work under heavy load, when the forum becomes really popular.

Yeah windrider makes a good point, needs to be able to integrate with other mods/parts of the forum as much as possible so users can get the most benefit!

So we need a bank system with an integrated auction mod and a shop where users can buy customisation for themselves, like the vbPlaza mod.

vB plasa is good option. I saw other forum use this. And usefull :)

Agreed. If you put a steal function you will be flooded with support questions asking:

1. Steal percentage
2. How to steal
3. Why stealing is allowed
4. Complaints against successful steals

A total waste of time for the management.

The point system is a great thing you can do for increasing the traffic on the site! Finally, VB plaza is a great option to be introduced! And, also should make options like redeem for points!

What do you mean redeem for points? Domains? Or maybe you had other things in mind.

Redeeming points for cash would bring in a whole lot of members. Spam might get to be a problem but I'm sure we can handle that.

No, please. We'll attract more spammers that we can handle. Even normal members will be tempted to post one liners for the money.

I think the points idea is better than simply using posts because there is a good mod for vb that does the job well and subtracting posts whenever you get something isn't a smart idea in my opinion.

iTrader is installed now so there is some means of a points system in terms of buying/trading on this site. A "Free Stuff" forum will be opened soon to allow users to give away freebies and earn iTrader points. I am aslo going to open up a free area with free items for registered users.

Cool. I hope by registered users you mean people with greater than x posts.
